As Confluence has undergone a facelift, it was time to do the same to workflows.

Recent releases of Ad hoc Workflows have delivered API integration and other under-the-hood capabilities that our biggest customers have demanded.
Now it's time for fun and engagement for the end users.
Yup - users deserve a good experience - web apps have grown up.
Ad hoc Workflows features add new capabilities to your wiki: it helps you to create, share and re-use sets of actions used in everyday work. It then lets you step back and provide your organization with facilities to understand how work gets done. All-in-all, Ad hoc Workflows helps everyone improve efficiency, productivity and organizational learning.
We go beyond tasking your peers and getting approval or acknowledgement from them. With Ad hoc workflow, you simply capture and re-apply your work patterns. Using Ad hoc Workflows you can work in the moment to get things done: Ad hoc Workflow tracks tasks and helps you figure out later what mattered. To re-use, pick a set of past steps and use them as a template, or use the Workflow Designer to rework your practices.
Advanced users will appreciate behind-the-scenes macro functionality that facilitates a code-based manipulation of the process.
Workflows for ConfluenceAd hoc Workflows enhances Confluence to introduce workflows to seamlessly approve and publish content, while tracking work activities. You can use the bundled workflows, customize your own, or have the plugin learn from your interactions. |
Task ManagementYou can define tasks on every page and all the activity (including assigning and completing them) is recorded. Email notifications are sent when pages are assigned and users can access their tasks in the dashboard. |
Ad hoc WorkflowsAd hoc Workflows records your tasks, states and page assignments as you work to later save as a template, as illustrated in this demo. |
Workflow TemplatesThe plugin includes a default set of ready-to-use workflow templates. Administrators can create and manage workflows users can apply to a page or post. This demo illustrates how simple is to use them. Previously recorded Ad hoc workflows iterations can be saved as a template and reused. |
Workflow DesignerWorkflow templates can be manipulated in a drag-and-drop browser interface that is easy to use by all staff. Using the Designer, you can create a workflow from scratch, remodel a workflow from ad hoc interactions, and view existing macro-based design graphically. |
Workflow AdministrationWorkflows are managed by Space and Global administrators, who decide which workflow templates are available to users to apply to a page or post. Administrators can also define Space Workflows, which apply to all the pages and posts within the space, without having to add the workflow to each page. |
ReportsUsers can easily find the state of pages, status of tasks and see the activity on each page. The Workflow shows graphic representation of the workflow process. |
Programmer APIOur Application Programmer Interface enables your skilled programmers to build custom functionality as a Confluence Plugin. The interface permits you to build queries for custom reporting, gives read-write access for integration with other systems, and permits you to generate and handle custom events. |
