Adaptavist plugins and Confluence 4 - Introducing our EAP

This week saw the fantastic release of Atlassian's Confluence version 4^[1]. Two years in the making, this brings about a revolution in collaboration with a brand new Rich Text editing experience, doing away with Wiki Markup. This also means a radical overhaul is now required for most of the over 400 Confluence plugins that rely on Wiki Markup to implement their functionality. Our 22 plugins are no different, with just two of those plugins (Backup Manager^[2] and Attachment Download^[3] plugins) being able to work without significant changes.

We're committed to making all of our Essentials and Wiki-plus Pack plugins Confluence 4 compatible over the coming weeks. We don't have a fixed date for release but we will be prioritising the Wiki-plus Pack, and the most popular Essentials Pack plugins.

We will be dripping out release candidates of Confluence 4 compatible versions of our plugins for you guys to try out as part of our Confluence 4 Plugin Early Access Programme (EAP). Whilst not ready for production use, these will allow interested parties to try out the latest development releases, prior to their final stable release.

Today we have our most popular plugin, Content Formatting^[4] as well as Content Voting^[5], ready for the EAP. You can download the beta versions from our Community site and provide feedback about them.

It's worth noting that with the exception of Plugin Licensing Manager, Backup Manager and Attachment Downloads plugins, our plugins are currently only compatible with Confluence 3.1-3.5 - Atlassian's Plugin Exchange did incorrectly list some of the older versions of our plugins as being compatible with Confluence 4. This is a bug with Atlassian's Plugin Exchange that they are working to resolve.
